Eric Terao

Eric Terao was born in the U.S.A. and moved to Hong Kong in 2008. He worked for several years at a local tutorial center helping students with a variety of academic goals ranging from general school improvement to overseas schools entrance examinations. It was here that he gained extensive knowledge about the Hong Kong school system, the various curriculums, and the mindset of Hong Kong students. Combined with his previous teaching experience, this further developed his passion to help students better themselves and reach their goals. In 2015, he started TCL Professional Tutoring in order to move on to the next level with the aim to broaden his teaching and help pupils from all backgrounds reach their full potential.

Eric earned BAs in Language Studies and Global Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MA in Linguistics with focuses in conversation analysis and second language acquisition at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In addition to the above, he is also a qualified International Baccalaureate teacher with the IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning, which he earned in 2013, and went on to earn the Trinity CertTESOL in 2014.
